CEO and MANAGING PARTNER

Mustapha JannehIGT’s Managing Partner, Mustapha Janneh, has over 25 years of experience in transportation infrastructure planning and development worldwide. He has worked and supervised technical professionals in diverse cultural environments. Mustapha has extensive experience in program and project management of major developments, specifically focused on the planning and financing of large transportation infrastructure projects including airports, railways, ports, and privatization ventures as well as public-private partnership (PPP) initiatives in the United States and other OECD countries.

Recently, Mustapha was appointed to serve as Program Manager/Advisor to the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) on the multibillion-dollar modernization of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). He reports directly to the Deputy Executive Director of the Planning and Development Group providing program support, assisting on the planning and analysis of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP), and development of the project definition delivery process to facilitate risk management and to optimize the program’s efficient delivery. In Mustapha’s recent experience, he has served as Senior Project Manager at the Port of Oakland, where he advised senior management in the development of capital projects to modernize Oakland International Airport.

Over the last fifteen years, Mustapha has worked with and served as adviser to senior airport management staff at major airports, including working as the program manager and representative for the Star Alliance, in which capacity he advised Star members on a variety of major airport capital projects in Frankfurt, Paris, London, Madrid, Tokyo, San Francisco, Washington, Chicago, and elsewhere around the world. Additionally, he liaised with airport management in the planning and financing of multibillion-dollar capital programs for Star members.

Education

Mustapha holds a Masters in Major Program Management as well as a Masters in Environmental Change and Management from Oxford University, a Masters in City and Regional Planning from UC Berkeley, and a BS in Urban Planning and Economic Geography from State University College, Buffalo. Mustapha also has additional certificate training in Construction Management, Airport System Planning and Design, and Airport and Port Landside Planning.
